One of the things I find interesting about the "blogging" craze is getting an understanding of my own expectations. Does anyone else really care about what I think or what I write? I am sure there are some, but they might be family or close associates, and maybe dropping by for a visit is much more long-lasting and satisfying than a blog entry.
That said, there is an opportunity for some on-line musing and observations. And it is certainly an opportunity to blend professional and personal experiences in a journal of sorts.
As an example -- I am a water "wonk". I am also highly idealistic and optimistic about the future. The fact that I want to talk or focus so mych energy on my work, my professional experiences, etc. is probably an indication of the how important I think the subject matter is to the other things in life that I value.
Now that I am starting to wax philosophic, perhaps I will wind things up. There is much each of us can do to create the futures that we want for ourselves, our families and our communities. Much of it takes some real hard thinking, but nothing really happens until we move our own feet and open our own mouths -- so it really is time to move from talking the talk, to walking the walk.
How's that for a heavy blog.

I Give Up -- Blog or Become Irrevelant
I can't believe I'm here. How many times have I said that blogging is a waste of time? [If I give you the answer, you would just say I am exaggerating -- or embellishing -- or something of that nature.] But I have determined that 'Resistance is Futile".
The only family member to not have a blog? One might suggest that would point the way to irrelevance, and that is a place I just don't want to be, so I guess I am going to be here for awhile [or to stay].
